::4:: Deon Auby

Deon is a family man at heart and lives in Bassonia, Johannesburg. He is married to Antoinette and they have three sons, Marc, Jimmy and Brandon who have inherited their dad’s need for speed. All three boys are very active in racing- Brandon in karting and Mark and Jimmy in SAMCAR GT1.

This ensures a very eventful race-day for Antoinette, always keen to keep an eye on all her brave men. Deon has always had a passion for fast cars and regards his M5 and Porsche 911 at 250 km/hour as the epitome if fun!

As the owner and Managing Director or Tony’s Logistics, a successful transport and logistics company, Deon is well known in the transport industry.

He is the proud owner of the Big Black Rig called “ Terminator”, responsible for getting the team and their cars to the race meetings in time. Deon has one of the largest single owner fleets of international and freightliner trucks in South Africa. When he is not on the racetrack, his days are spent at Tony’s Logistics overseeing and managing these vehicles.

Deon has raced 125cc karts, progressing later to 250 kart racing winning the 250 cc Super Kart Series. True to form, Deon could not resist the temptation to race the V-8 Sascar’s and was one of the first drivers to commit to the purchase of one of these monster machines.

Throughout his SASCAR career, Deon has earned a reputation for being consistent in his steady progress and success and was dubbed “Mr Consistency” by the media. In his first season as a SASCAR driver, Deon finished in a respectable 11th overall position in a field of 16 at the end of the SASCAR 2000 inaugural series. His best finish was 7th place at an early race meeting at East London’s Grand Prix Circuit.

2003 and 2004 saw Deon win the 125 promo karting championship and he also came third in the SASCAR series.
2005 saw him competing in the Wesbank SAMCAR GT3 series- finishing 3rd overall.

2006 Deon decided it was time to joining the big guns and entered his Bosal sponsored Lumina into GT1 Class, and will follow his season success into 2007
