Larry to gether with Willie Hepburn, are probable the longest serving member of SAMCAR, having been a members since 1978, Larry has not only been a competitor, but has served on a variety of the committees, and obviously his years of experience gives him the edge in both competition and technical ability, and his technical knowledge has assisted in keeping the WesBank V8 formula going through the years. Larry was the Chairman of SAMCAR in 2004. 

Larry has competed with the best, as well has beating them fair and square, and is respected by his fellow competitors, and in particular he has raced with and against characters like SAREL, BEN, WILLIE, the late TONY VIANA, and has always been a front runner. 

He has won a variety of trophies for his efforts and has been a champion during his race years. 

Larry has competed in a variety of race cars, and was one of the original SABAT Team drivers with his V6 Opel Rekord, and Gary Dunkerly (Porsche), and certainly put on a great show in Class B, where the competition was exciting from the likes of Johan Coetzee and Hennie van der Linde. He is also the proud owner of the Audi 500 Quattro - the 1988 Transam winner -  

Larry is married, to wife Barbara and has two children, Terry who is also a WesBank V8 Supercars competitor and his daughter Natalie, he enjoys all sports, and his special likes are fast cars, good food and wine. 

Larry continues to race in 2007 and his son Terry , who is on a sabbatical this season will resume his racing in 2008, so we will yet another father and son combination the formula.
