Hennie Groenewald (Team Timken Lumina) proved unbeatable despite heavy competition during Round 4 of the WesBank Super Series at Zwartkops on Saturday.   He qualified on pole position on Friday, ahead of eight other drivers, who had all lapped within one second of each other.   He had two wins on Saturday, which he had to drive hard to earn - Race 1 by .7 seconds and race 2 by .5 seconds, passing 17 drivers in the process from the back of the field.

Race 1 saw the Auby family Mark (Jonnesway Tools Lumina), 16 year old Brandon (Massana Petroleum Jag) and father Deon (Meta Forge Jaguar) on Groenewald’s tail until the half-way mark.   Mark kept up the pressure, whilst Brandon stuck in gear and retired whilst father, Deon,  slowed to get a good starting position for the inverted grid of Race 2.

Groenewald’s team-mate, Robert Briggs in his Jaguar, started from 6th place on the grid.   He pushed hard to take a flying Larry Wilford (Fuchs Lubricants Mustang) by 100th of a second at the line followed by Richard Pinard (TeamTimken Jaguar) and Jaco Correia (Omega Motor Spares Corvette) just as close in 5th and 6th

Race 2 was all about Rob Wall (P2P Squared Holdings Mustang) leading for 5 of the 15 laps.  Groenewald starting from the back of the grid forced his way past driver after driver on each corner in what can only be described as a classic drive.

Terry Wilford (Fuchs Jaguar) went to the front until Jaco Correia arrived on the scene with his brother, Danie.   Larry Wilford had got to 4th until Hennie Groenewald on his way to the front, pushed him back to 5th
